PBM Nutritionals, the world’s largest manufacturer of private-label infant formula, is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Pest Control Operator at our Georgia, VT facility.
This is a 10 hour position, 6:00am – 4:15PM, Wednesday – Saturday.
JOB SUMMARY
The Pest Control Operator assumes significant responsibility by creating, implementing and maintaining a state-of-the-art Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program. Incumbent will perform IPM in and around PBM Nutritionals and associated buildings and grounds, in accordance with all State and Federal regulations. This position may occasionally be required to immediately respond to emergency pest concerns during off-hours and weekends.
DUTIES
- In-house sign making, cleaning Dumpster Room, assisting with filter-change outs for air-handling systems and completion of daily sanitation checklists.
- Creates, implements and performs up-to-date IPM for all buildings and grounds in compliance with all Corporate, State and Federal regulations. This includes maintaining all monitoring devices and traps according to written schedule or in response to emergencies and performing pesticide application as necessary and appropriate for buildings and grounds.
- Performs continuous audits and IPM inspections of all buildings and grounds with notification to appropriate parties for remedial/corrective/preventative action, and follows-up to ensure compliance/completion/prevention is attained.
- Investigates and determines root cause of pest sightings and/or infestations; recommends corrective and preventative responses to each individual situation with written documentation.
- Cleans/sanitizes all manufacturing block vacuum cleaners (including hoses and implements) with proper adherence to all related work instructions.
- Maintains all required documentation thoroughly, accurately, completely and legibly.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent required. Must possess a current State of Vermont Pesticide Certification 7-A and 7-C
SKILLS
- Basic insect identification for food-pest species
- Thorough and up-to-date knowledge of IPM
- Ability to maintain and perform minor repairs upon respiratory protection, ULV fogger, backpack sprayer, insect light traps and other equipment, as necessary.
- Interest in, and willingness to maintain, knowledge and competency with related advances and changes in pest-control technology and practices.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
